Collagen and hyaluronic acid are natural components of our skin which give it both volume and support. With time, these components diminish and our skin loses structure and volume resulting in sagging, wrinkled skin. Juvederm Injectable Gel is hyaluronic acid and is used to restore the volume that has been lost over time. It is a long lasting smooth gel that is used to fill in facial wrinkles and folds as well as restore volume to thinned lips. Because hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, it dissolves naturally with time.
The treatment is performed by injecting the gel directly into the skin or lips using an ultra-fine needle.
